Phase 3 of the Climate Change Agreement (CCA), a UK program that offers discounts on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) in exchange for energy efficiency and emission reduction commitments, will start in January 2026 and extend until 2033. ALFED advises that acting sooner will allow companies to secure discounts and minimize regulatory risks.
Eligible sites can obtain up to a 92 % discount on electricity and 89 % on gas, which could mean savings of around £70,000 per year for a site with 5 million kWh of electricity and gas, and much more in large or multi-site facilities.
Companies that use eligible processes often experience significant savings, lower administrative burden, reduced risk of non-compliance, and greater security in energy planning and decarbonization.
