ALCOA FOUNDATION DONATES MONEY TO SANTA CASA DE ANDRADAS

The Alcoa Foundation donated about 9,444 euros to Santa Casa de Andradas (MG). The purpose of this donation is to help the hospital meet important demands, including the installation of a clinical analysis laboratory. In addition, thanks to this donation, the hospital was able to install a vegetable garden and a clinical analysis laboratory, in addition to meeting an urgent demand in the operating room.

Regina Lima, Andradas Municipal Secretary of Education and member of Alcoa’s Community Relations Advisory Board, an important group in the definition of the company’s social investments, was in charge of suggesting the Santa Casa de Andradas as the main candidate to receive this donation.

“When I speak of Alcoa, I speak from the heart, because whenever we need it most, the company offers us a helping hand. It was like that this time as well. We needed to buy an electric scalpel to attend surgeries and equipment for our laboratory facility, which will contribute to improving the care provided to the citizens of Andradas and eight other cities. We also had to modernize the hospital and generate new income in the future by offering this service. The orchard, in turn, was the realization of a dream of several years of Santa Casa”, added the person in charge.

“Recently, we gave it to Poços de Caldas, also in Minas Gerais, and today we are collaborating with Santa Casa de Andradas. We are sure that this action and the donation will have a very positive impact on the quality of the institution’s service,” concluded Fábio Martins, Operations Director of Alcoa Poços de Caldas.
