The Galician canning company Albo has celebrated this Wednesday the official inauguration of its new factory in the logistics and industrial platform of Salvaterra/As Neves (Plisan). With nearly 25,000 square meters of surface area, this modern facility, which has already been in operation for months, is positioned as one of the most advanced and largest in the sector in Galicia.

The event was attended by the delegate of the Government in Galicia, José Ramón Gómez Besteiro, accompanied by the subdelegate in Pontevedra, Maica Larriba; the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda; the first vice-president and regional minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, Francisco Conde; the regional minister of Environment, Territory and Housing, Ángeles Vázquez; and the regional minister of the Sea, Rosa Quintana.

During his speech, Besteiro highlighted the importance of this infrastructure for the economic growth of Salvaterra de Miño, adding business dynamism to its cultural and natural wealth. He also highlighted the centenary trajectory of Albo and its commitment to modernization, with the objective of reaching an annual production of 100 million cans. He also reaffirmed the commitment of the central government to the Galician canning industry, which represents 80% of Spanish exports in this sector.

For his part, the President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, underlined the strength of the sector in Galicia, which continues to lead the market thanks to its firm commitment to innovation and excellence. In this sense, he highlighted the incorporation of 4.0 technology in the plant, which will contribute to optimize efficiency, competitiveness and safety in production processes. “This is an ambitious project that consolidates the company as a global benchmark,” he said.

With this new factory, Albo reaffirms its leadership in the canning sector, promoting its growth and modernization to meet the challenges of today’s market.
