The Galician canning company Albo has officially inaugurated its new plant in the Salvaterra/As Neves logistics and industrial platform (Plisan), covering nearly 25,000 square meters. Although it had been operational for months, this modern factory is now established as one of the largest and most advanced in the sector in Galicia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various authorities, including the Government Delegate in Galicia, José Ramón Gómez Besteiro, and the President of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, along with other regional and local representatives.

During his speech, Besteiro emphasized the importance of this infrastructure for the region’s economic development, highlighting Albo’s combination of century-old tradition and commitment to innovation. He also highlighted the company’s goal of reaching an annual production of 100 million cans and reaffirmed the central Government’s commitment to the Galician canning sector, responsible for 80% of national exports.

For his part, Rueda praised Galicia’s leadership in the canning sector, highlighting the incorporation of 4.0 technology in this plant as a key element to improve efficiency, competitiveness, and safety.

This new factory represents a decisive step in Albo’s modernization, consolidating its position as a global reference. The company thus strengthens its capacity to face the challenges of the current market and continue growing from Galicia to the world.
