Alba is becoming more engaged with the Egyptian country’s aluminum sector, demonstrating a stronger partnership with them. This will show a significant improvement in the country’s economy, opening possibilities and increasing the amount of business between both nations.
Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), enthusiastically expressed his intention to strengthen ties with major aluminum producers located in the Arab world during a May 24 meeting with His Excellency Mahmood Kamal Esmat, Egyptian Minister of Public Enterprises in Cairo, Egypt.
Specifically, the meeting between Ali Al Baqali of Alba, Eng. Mohammed Al Saadawy of Metallurgical Industries Holding Company and Mahmoud Atour of Egyptalum – Egypt’s largest aluminum company – was aimed at strengthening cooperation between them and boosting investment in this sector. For his part, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, expressed his approval of the investor-friendly environment in Egypt, and announced that there will be studies on the feasibility of merging Alba with Metallurgical Industries Holding Company to manufacture products using bauxite as the base raw material.
Likewise, Mahmood Kamal Esmat, Egyptian Minister of Public Business, communicated the recognition of the bilateral relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to empower the private sector and increase its contribution to the national economy by boosting public-private partnerships in Egypt, as well as creating foreign direct investment opportunities, especially with Arab countries.
