AkzoNobel, an expert in paints and coatings, has opened a new factory in Faisalabad, Pakistan. This plant cost 26 million euros and is the company’s largest investment in this country to date. It also has its own forest within its facilities.
The 25-acre site, which includes areas to produce different types of paint such as decorative, wood and automotive finishes, as well as special coatings for coils and protection, will be a great help to meet the growing need of customers in different markets.


In addition, a 5,450 sq. ft. forest was added to the Faisalabad location. The expectation is that this forest, planted with the Miyawaki technique of Japanese gardening, will become a thriving, self-sufficient ecosystem within the next two years, with more than 1,400 native trees and shrubs.

The company has built a site to meet high environmental standards, which employs nearly 200 people. Various sustainability features have been implemented within the site, such as renewable energy generation and a design that maximizes energy efficiency.
