The International Organisation of Aluminium Aerosol Container Manufacturers (AEROBAL) has reported that global shipments of aluminum aerosol cans by its members fell by 1.7% in the first half of 2025, reaching approximately 3.3 billion units, compared to the same period in 2024.

This decrease is mainly attributed to weak demand in the cosmetics sector. The key segments of deodorants and hairspray, which traditionally account for the largest share of deliveries, experienced significant declines. Although some smaller markets, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and household goods, also contributed to the decline, the main cause was lower demand in various cosmetic categories.

Despite this setback, the industry is expected to recover in the second half of 2025, supported by innovation in sustainable designs and the diversification of applications beyond the cosmetics sector. In addition, demand for aluminum aerosol cans is expected to remain stable or increase in 2025, although growth may vary by region.
