Brazil will enter the Guinness Book of World Records after recycling the largest number of used beverage cans (UBC) collected in a single event. After five days of work in Sapucaí, with a team of more than 100 recyclers and coordinators and a total of almost 10 tons of recycled cans, the Rio 2023 Carnival was a success.
According to the Brazilian association Abralatas, this achievement was crowned at the ‘Saturday of Champions’ parade , with the Guinness Book trophy and the opening of the parade on the avenue by the recyclers, protagonists of the Cada Lata Conta programs with which they have made history.
From Abralatas they pointed out:
“We will continue to stand firm in the fight, with joy and enthusiasm, for a Brazil in which the circular economy is a reality. More than recycling cans, we need to recycle lives”.
