The European Tube Manufacturers Association (etma) held its annual Tube of the Year 2025 awards ceremony on May 21 in Nice, recognizing excellence in design, innovation, and sustainability across five categories: aluminum, plastic, laminate, prototypes, and sustainability.
TUBEX Aluminium Tubes won in the aluminum category with a refillable tube for Caudalie, made from 100% recycled aluminum and without a plastic cap. This solution aligns with the French natural cosmetics brand’s sustainable strategy.
Albéa Tubes was awarded in the plastic category with an EcoFusion Top tube for ETAT PUR’s “Pure Skincare” line. The packaging, fully recyclable and made from monomaterial HDPE, reduces plastic use by over 50%.
In the laminate tube category, EPL Europe stood out with its packaging for POMÉLO+CO’s hair care line, made with recyclable Platina™ laminate and decorated with premium metallic effects.
The winning prototype was presented by Global Tube, featuring a PBL tube printed in a single pass that combines advanced technologies such as Cast&Cure™ and aromatic microcapsules, offering a multi-sensory experience.
Linhardt from Germany won the sustainability award for their Cien solar tubes manufactured for Lidl. Made with 100% recycled plastics and ultra-light closures, they represent a significant advancement in eco-friendly packaging for sun care products.
During the ceremony, etma’s new Secretary General, Seifeldin Raslan Mohamed, emphasized the key role of the European tube industry in developing responsible and cutting-edge packaging solutions.
