Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) has announced that its new CEO will be Krassimira Kazashka. With more than twenty years of experience in EU institutions, policies and business associations, Krassimira will bring great value to the industry and to MPE. Prior to joining this organization, he worked for international companies and European associations, as well as for the European Commission, acquiring extensive knowledge on sustainability, packaging and packaging waste, circular economy, chemicals and food contact. Krassimira holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Environmental Protection in Europe and an MBA from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium.


For his part, Paulo Sousa, president of MPE, expressed his enthusiasm for Krassimira’s joining the organization. According to him, his leadership and experience will be invaluable in efforts to promote rigid metal packaging as a leading force in the EU’s circular economy and as the preferred choice for consumers and industry in terms of sustainability.


Krassimira also expressed her enthusiasm after being appointed and said she looks forward to building on the industry’s positive momentum to work with members and stakeholders to position rigid metal packaging as an innovative solution and an important partner in the quest for a sustainable future. He also highlighted the circular value of this packaging and its role in the circular economy.
