Doctor William Li explains how white beans can be an excellent support for fat burning, highlighting their composition and the way they are prepared. “Legumes are rich in dietary fiber and healthy fats, but the way we cook them is key.”

On his Instagram account, Dr. Li highlights how the combination of beans and endive constitutes a perfect dish for the digestive system. “Packed with fiber, vitamins, and prebiotics, it’s a comforting and traditional dish”, he explains while showing a stew of braised beans, the best way to process this food.

Additionally, he recommends adding a touch of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) after cooking, as this ingredient also promotes body fat burning. “Olive oil contains bioactive compounds such as hydroxytyrosol and oleocanthal, which can stimulate brown fat,” Li indicates. Therefore, EVOO could be considered the eighth food that activates fat burning. However, he warns that due to its high caloric content, it should not be consumed in excess: about 40 milliliters per day, that is, about 4-5 tablespoons.
