Sonoco Europe has become a member of the Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment (INCPEN), an important step in the effort Sonoco has been making to further develop its sustainability and corporate social responsibility credentials and, above all, to help promote environmental awareness and decisive action in the packaging industry in general.
INCPEN is an association that has been working with the United Nations on its sustainable development goals while simultaneously seeking to form a society that operates in harmony with the planet’s natural resources. That is why it is so important to Sonoco.
“We are delighted to have been accepted into the INCPEN membership scheme,” said Sonoco Consumer Products Europe divisional vice president and general manager Seàn Cairns. “It is an invaluable organization dedicated to helping the packaging industry develop a better understanding of the role packaging plays in the environment. This collaboration with INCPEN and its other members is part of our overall vision to establish a comprehensive roadmap for a sustainable and circular economy.
