Aluminum alloys for sheet products are identified by a four-digit numerical system administered by the Aluminum Association. Alloys are conveniently divided into eight groups according to their main alloying element. The first digit identifies the alloy group as follows: 1xxx, 2xxx, 3xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx, and 8xxx,

Alloy group we have 3xxx and 5xxx this is the main focus of can and lid manufacturing.

The designation of the quenching follows the code F, H and O.

H (strain-hardened), applies to forged products that are reinforced by cold rolling or cold working

3xxx (Manganese) Aluminium can body coil 3104.

3104 H19 Aluminum alloy coil is the main alloy used in the can body. We can find the different specifications of cans.

• Standard: 330ml, 350ml, 375ml, 440ml, 470ml, 473ml, 500ml, 530ml, 550ml and 568ml.
• Slim: 150ml 187ml 200ml and 250ml
• Sleek: 250ml, 330ml, 355ml, 355ml, 400ml,450ml, 473ml and 591ml

5XXX (MAGNESIUM) CAPS

Alloy coil 3104 / H19, 5052 / H48, 5052/5182 H19 / H48 is used for juice, water, beer and craft beer.

The silver lid is standard and we can combine colors.

5XXX (MAGNESIUM) RINGS

The alloy coil 5182 H19/H48 is the most used material for the ring, we can find the silver color for drinking juices, sugary drinks, the colored caps matching the rings with beer, today we have a new ring, colored implementation for canned wine.

We can find cut rings and coloured rings with 48 different colours.
