Geoff Courtney, Sales Director for the UK and Ireland at Envases UK, has been appointed new president of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA), replacing Aidan Ruddock, who had held the position since April 2019.

Courtney, who has been MPMA Vice President since 2021, has over 30 years of experience in the packaging industry. He began his career in metal packaging at Pechiney (now Trivium Packaging) and later worked at Ball Packaging (now Ardagh). He has been a member of the MPMA board and chaired industry organizations such as BCME and The Can Makers.

With this appointment, Courtney aims to continue promoting the advantages of metal packaging and addressing the regulatory challenges of the sector. “Rarely has the unity and leadership offered by sector associations been so important,” she stated.

Jason Galley, Executive Director of MPMA, expressed his satisfaction: “Geoff has been a great support to the association and has already contributed significantly as Vice President. We are delighted that he is taking on this new role”.
