The Cádiz City Council and the international foundation Every Can Counts launch the environmental campaign “Your Can to Yellow” to promote the recycling of beverage cans during the SailGP Cádiz event. The initiative seeks to promote cleaner and more sustainable leisure.
Environmental educators will tour the event areas with collection backpacks, while the City Council will install additional containers and bins at key points such as the Paseo de Santa Bárbara and the Paseo Carlos III.
“The circular economy begins with a simple gesture: depositing the can in the yellow container,” said Pablo García, director of Every Can Counts in Spain. The Deputy Mayor José Carlos Teruel has highlighted that events such as SailGP are “a unique opportunity to promote sustainable habits.”
The campaign has the collaboration of the Red Bull Italy SailGP Team, which participates in a video promoting recycling and environmental protection, aligned with the objectives of the SailGP Impact League.
Every Can Counts reminds us that recycling aluminum reduces energy by up to 95% compared to manufacturing new cans, helping to curb climate change. The City Council and the foundation hope to achieve a 100% recycling rate during the event.
