The Sonoco plant in Las Torres de Cotillas (Murcia, Spain) has paid tribute to Tomás López-Zamora—a key figure in the metal packaging industry who recently passed away—with the inauguration of a street named after him within the facilities. The event brought together local authorities, company executives, and family members in an emotional recognition of his professional and human legacy.
The mayor of the municipality, Pedro José Noguera, highlighted the importance of López-Zamora and the Vivancos brothers in bringing the factory to the town, an event that boosted the town’s prosperity and generated employment for numerous families.
For his part, Howard Coker, president and CEO of Sonoco, recalled Tomás López-Zamora’s business vision, his passion for work, and the consolidation of projects both in Murcia and in the rest of Spain. “His legacy will continue to shape our present and future,” he said.
