The American packaging supplier Gilpin has acquired AMCLO, a leading independent manufacturer of metal closures for composite cans, tubes, and cores. The transaction allows Gilpin to expand its portfolio with specialized metal solutions and serve a wider variety of customer needs.
The agreement includes AMCLO’s production equipment, inventory, and customer base. The manufacturing of the closures will be moved to the Rayfield Metal Stamping plant in Greenville, Pennsylvania, a subsidiary of Reynolds Services, Inc., which will act as Gilpin’s production partner.
Paul McClure, CEO of Gilpin, noted that the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to offer a more complete range of metal packaging and responds to the growing demand in the sector.
Founded in 1963 and acquired by McClure in 2008, Gilpin is internationally recognized for its easy-open lids, complex closures, and plastic packaging for pasteurized, retorted, and hot-filled foods.
