VMI, a company specializing in production machinery, has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal in recognition of its sustainability efforts. The EcoVadis rating is a comprehensive assessment that measures companies’ environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Obtaining the Gold Medal places VMI among the top 5% of the most sustainable companies globally, according to this entity.
In just three years, VMI has improved its score, moving from bronze to silver, and now achieving gold. In a statement, the company highlighted that the award represents a milestone “in our journey towards a more sustainable future and reaffirms our constant commitment to sustainability, transparency, quality, and social responsibility, both for our company and for our team, technology, and the entire value chain. We do not consider it a final point, but a strong impetus to advance even further.”
EcoVadis is the global benchmark for business sustainability assessment. Its analysis covers 21 criteria grouped into four main areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. More than 150,000 companies worldwide have been evaluated by this platform.
