AkzoNobel has announced that Fredrik Westin will be its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) starting January 1, 2026, replacing Maarten de Vries, who will complete his second term. Westin, a 52-year-old Swede, brings more than 25 years of experience in the industrial and automotive sectors, and is currently CFO and Executive Vice President at Autoliv.

Ben Noteboom, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted Westin’s ability to improve profitability and promote operational efficiency. CEO Greg Poux-Guillaume praised De Vries’ contribution to the company’s financial transformation and stated that Westin is the ideal candidate to continue with the strategic objectives.

Westin expressed his enthusiasm about joining AkzoNobel and working with the executive team to accelerate the transformation and improve results. His addition to the board will depend on shareholder approval, while De Vries will remain in office until April 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.
