Ohio-based Peak Cocktails has recalled 16,128 units of its Blood Orange Spritz non-alcoholic beverage due to potential over-pressurization that could cause the cans to burst. The product was distributed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, including key markets such as California, Texas, and New York.
The recall, initiated on June 3, 2025, was classified by the FDA as Class II, implying potential temporary or reversible adverse health effects. Although no incidents have been reported, the company recommends not opening or consuming the affected cans, corresponding to lots B25127 and B25128, packaged on May 7 and 8.
The problem originates from a build-up of pressure inside the containers, which can cause them to rupture spontaneously and pose a physical risk to the consumer.
