Sonoco Products Company has announced the appointment of Paul Joachimczyk as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from June 30, 2025.
Howard Coker, the company’s president and CEO, highlighted Joachimczyk’s suitability for the position: “his experience in various manufacturing sectors and his focus on long-term value creation will be key to further strengthening our financial management and operational initiatives”.
Joachimczyk joins Sonoco after serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Corporate Secretary of American Woodmark Corporation, one of the leading kitchen cabinet manufacturers in the U.S. He has also held executive positions at TopBuild Corp., Stanley Black Decker, and General Electric, where he worked in the healthcare and capital markets divisions. He began his career as a financial auditor at Ernst Young LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
He will replace Jerry Cheatham, who has served as interim CFO since January 6, 2025, and will continue in the role until the formal presentation of the second quarter financial report. Cheatham will support the transition and subsequently take on a leadership role within Sonoco’s financial area.
“I want to thank Jerry for leading our financial team during a key transformation period for Sonoco “” — added Coker — we are confident that his collaboration with Paul and the rest of the team will take “New Sonoco” to the next level of success.
