The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has asked the administration to grant automatic tariff exclusions to small importers, allow companies to request exclusions if tariffs threaten employment, and exempt products that are not produced in the U.S. or are unavailable.

Suzanne P. Clark, president of the Chamber, emphasized that small businesses face high costs and supply chain disruptions that threaten their viability. Additionally, she called for protecting workers who could lose their jobs due to tariffs and avoiding price increases for consumers on products not manufactured in the U.S.

The Chamber is also advocating for an exclusion process for companies at risk of layoffs, highlighting that certain goods are not produced in the U.S., and that price increases harm American families.
