Sonoco has inaugurated a Performance Hub in Hyderabad, India, with an initial investment of up to $10 million. This center aims to drive innovation in packaging solutions, leverage emerging technology, and develop local talent in India, which is key to the company’s global growth. The hub will feature training spaces, collaboration areas, and advanced technological infrastructure, focusing on automation, data analysis, and sustainability. Sonoco plans to incorporate 300 technologists in the next 12-18 months and 500 in three years, aligning the center with its global digitalization and growth objectives.
Howard Coker, CEO of Sonoco, emphasized that this hub marks a significant advancement in the company’s digital transformation. Rajeev Ankireddypalli, CIO of Sonoco, added that Hyderabad offers the ideal environment for the center. Arvind Chittora, managing director of the hub, expressed his excitement about leading this project and strengthening the company’s technological capabilities on a global scale.
