An American tourist, Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, 24, was arrested for attempting to contact a remote tribe on North Sentinel Island in the Andaman Islands, India. Polyakov, known for his travel videos on YouTube, illegally accessed the restricted territory, leaving a coconut and a can of Diet Coca-Cola as offerings, and using a whistle and binoculars to attract the Sentinelese, without success.

Visiting the island is prohibited due to the dangers posed by the tribe, which has maintained its isolation. The young man was arrested on March 29 after being seen leaving in a boat towards the island. Indian police are investigating his intentions and other places he may have visited. His trip was carefully planned, including studying sea conditions and tides to avoid problems when accessing the island. Authorities reminded that the tribe rejects contact with the outside world, and any visit is prohibited to avoid risks.
