Koenig Bauer has taken a strategic step to strengthen its growth in digital business models by converting its Digital Unit into an independent subsidiary.
Since early April, this unit, which previously operated within the group, has become a wholly-owned subsidiary under the name Koenig Bauer Kyana GmbH, forming part of the Special and New Technologies segment.
Sandra Wagner, who served as Vice President of Digitalization in the company, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the new entity. Her focus will continue to be on developing digital business models, as well as solutions based on artificial intelligence and data analysis throughout the lifecycle of printing products.
Koenig Bauer’s CEO, Dr. Andreas Pleßke, emphasized that this decision will allow them to consolidate their expertise in digitalization and significantly contribute to the company’s long-term success.
The Digital Unit was created in 2022 as part of the “Exceeding Print” strategy. Now, as an independent company, it will be able to develop specialized areas such as digital sales, technical support, and customer success management.
Some of the developed products include:
- myKyana: a central portal for digital products.
- Kyana Assist: an artificial intelligence chatbot for quick assistance.
- Kyana Data: an intelligent production data analysis tool.
- VisuEnergy X: an energy management system.
Additionally, the company will expand its portfolio with solutions such as Connected Packaging, presented at Drupa last year.
Koenig Bauer Kyana will maintain close collaboration with other areas of the group to leverage synergies and offer comprehensive solutions to its customers.
