Aluminum packaging recycling organization, Alupro, has announced a partnership with the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC) to improve recycling rates in UK councils.
This agreement will allow Alupro to interact directly with LARAC members, offering guidance on best practices in aluminum container recycling. The collaboration includes the regular exchange of content through blogs, articles and advertorials on the LARAC website.
Tom Giddings, CEO of Alupro, said that through engagement initiatives, such as MetalMatters, which has been implemented by hundreds of councils since its launch in 2013, the aim is to make recycling simple, accessible and easy to understand in every household.
These campaigns focus on a two-phase distribution of brochures to all households in the target area, supplemented by additional communications and messaging.
It will also work to improve capture rates and material quality, working with local authorities, with the aim of achieving a 100% recycling rate for aluminum packaging throughout the United Kingdom.
