Lluís Pitarch has been appointed president of the Beverage Can Association, taking up the position at a key moment for the industry, with the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the beverage can and the 30th anniversary of the Association.
Pitarch, currently responsible for Public Affairs and Sustainability for Southern Europe at Ball Corporation, takes over from Iván Cirera, whom he has recognized for his leadership in the last two years. His objective will be to give continuity to the training, institutional and communication initiatives, boosting the promotion of the beverage can and its circularity model.
With a background in Political Science and a Masters in International Relations, Pitarch is a member of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership network. Prior to joining Ball Corporation, he worked in different departments of the Government of Catalonia, working in areas such as Territory and Sustainability, and Business and Knowledge.
In addition, as Associate Director of Public Affairs at Kreab, he designed strategies for clients in the waste management sector and large corporations in the food and beverage industry.
The Beverage Can Association is comprised of Ball Corporation, Crown and Ardagh, leading aluminum container manufacturing companies.
