The Recyclathon managed to recover more than 140 kilos of waste in one day in Santa Fe, Argentina, in addition to 125 kilos of dry waste and more than 17 kilos of aluminum cans. In addition, 102 kilos of books were recovered and talks on waste management were given to children.
The sixth and last recycling day at specific points in the city was held this Wednesday at the Galician Center. The objective of this day was for neighbors to bring materials that they do not use at home, such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, metals and Styrofoam, in order to reinforce the work carried out at the EcoPoints. On this occasion, 125.2 kilos of recyclable waste were collected.
It should be noted that those who brought material received in exchange seedlings, aromatic plants, compost, bags of friseline for errands and to put in the car. In addition, in conjunction with Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas (CCU), cans of non-alcoholic beer were also given to those who brought the 17.55 kilos of aluminum that were recycled.
As a novelty, this Recyclathon included the possibility of bringing books in good condition that will be placed in libraries that will be inaugurated next week in the city’s Ecopoints.
