The Department of Environment of the City of Vandellòs i l’Hospitalet de l’Infant in Tarragona has installed five compactors of soda cans in the municipality. Specifically, in the towns of Vandellòs, Masriudoms, l’Hospitalet de l’Infant and Almadrava Square, next to the playground of the sports pavilion.
The compactor model is made of steel, can be used outdoors and reduces 80% of the volume of the cans deposited only with the mechanical force exerted by the user/agent on the lever that activates the mechanism to crush the cans.
The design of the compactors allows them to be used intuitively. A simple and accessible way to reduce the environmental impact that would be interesting to transfer to all municipalities to promote sustainability in a simple way. A specific container for these cans facilitates recycling.
