The leading group in the canned fish sector Nauterra, formerly Calvo, has always sought a balance between design and sustainability and design, as explained by Esther García, the brand’s sustainability technician, who participated in Hispack 2024.

Esther says, “When I joined Nauterra, I was impressed to see how packaging innovation has been an essential part of the company since its inception. From the first tuna packing machine in 1956 to the redesign of formats in 1967 and 1978, Calvo has always sought to stand out in the market through innovation”.

The Nauterra technician added that “today, consumers increasingly value sustainable packaging, so we incorporate environmental variables at all stages of product development. This allows us to differentiate ourselves in the market and be more competitive”.
