The Novelis plant in Sierre, Switzerland, has once again obtained ASI V3 certification for all its activities related to the production of aluminum products. This includes processes such as casting, scaler, hot rolling, cold rolling, continuous heat treatment, finishing and laser cutting.
As of June 1, 2023, all certificate renewals must follow the standards established in 2022. This means that the company has successfully made the transition to the new ASI 2022 performance standards. Also, all recertifications must comply with the ASI 2022 Performance Standards. In this way, the company has successfully transitioned to the new updated ASI 2022 standard for these certifications.
Separately, it has been announced that 2022 will see ASI’s first major overhaul since its Standards and Certification program was launched in 2017. After conducting several reviews and public consultations between 2019 and 2022, it was concluded that more than 1,000 improvement measures should be implemented. These measures were taken into account thanks to the experience gained during implementation, the comments received from stakeholders and the change in expectations since the original Standards were launched.
