Colep Packaging recently announced that it has reached a joint agreement with Envases Group for the start-up of a new aerosol packaging plant in Mexico. The agreement, which is based on a 50% equity participation, will represent an initial total investment of more than US$30 million over a 2-year period.

Specifically, the new facility will focus on the production of 3 aluminum aerosol lines. The objective of the project will be to serve customers in Mexico and the entire Central American market using this production unit. This agreement, which brings together the experience, market knowledge and standards of two of the most important players in the metal packaging industry, will also make it possible to present a competitive offer in terms of portfolio, production capacity and delivery times, reinforcing the high levels of service that characterize both companies and which are decisive in the current context.

For Paulo Sousa, CEO of Colep PackagingThis is an important step in the fulfillment of our company’s strategy, affirming its competitive position in the aerosol market and strengthening its activity in the aluminum segment, which began with the acquisition of a 40% stake in the Spanish company ALM Envases in 2022.

For Martín Guaita, CEO of Grupo Envases, “this new agreement reinforces and strengthens our group’s determination to continue our regional expansion in the manufacture of aluminum and tinplate packaging. This milestone consolidates our position in the American market, expanding our presence and reputation as an industry leader. The Packaging Group is delighted to partner with Colep Packaging, a combination of two highly complementary and well-invested companies.”

This agreement, which brings together the experience, market knowledge and standards of two of the most important players in the metal packaging industry, will make it possible to serve customers in North and Central America more closely and to present a competitive offer in terms of portfolio, production capacity and delivery times, reinforcing the high levels of service that characterize both companies and that are decisive in the current market context.
For both Envases Group and Colep Packaging, a RAR Group company, this is an important step in consolidating their growth journey and reveals their ambition to occupy a prominent position in new geographies, enabling the companies to respond closely and proactively to the challenges of the global packaging market.
