It was recently revealed that Orora Beverage, a packaging and beverage company, is introducing its latest innovation called Helio by Orora. Apparently, this new alternative will change the way packaging is viewed and will be able to offer digital printing at a much faster speed than other similar products on the market.

Precisely, another advanced digital printing platform will be offered through the agreement made between Orora and Velox-digital, who provide new state-of-the-art direct-to-form digital printing solutions.

The project will change the packaging market by having the first digital printer installed in Dandenong, Victoria. This will be a major breakthrough for the canned goods industry. Helium refers to the light emitted by the sun, which contains all kinds of shades and hues, as well as shadows and finer resolutions.
In addition, Helio is proud to offer a unique solution that allows brands to show their customers the full image of their product before they even buy it. This gives owners the opportunity to unleash their imagination, thus enhancing the user experience and promoting greater interaction with the consumer.

The use of Velox technology is enabling companies to be more agile in their operations, improving their processes and reducing the cost overruns generated by excess inventory. This is achieved through the ability to produce small quantities with each order. Dandenong will have a significant change in the company’s leadership thanks to the digital decoration solution, which will enable it to maximize the leverage of its new investment in cans in various sizes.

“We have been evaluating the development of direct-to-form digital decoration technology for cans for some time: we are delighted with our new technology choice and the introduction of Helio enabled by the new high-speed digital decoration capability. Our role in primary packaging is to help our brand owners engage the shopper at the point of purchase. Helio and the Velox solution will transform our ability to do this for our customers’ brands.” noted Chris Smith, general manager of Orora Beverage Cans.

During the month of June 2023, the Dandenong-based company completed the development of its new industry that cost about US$80 million, thus fulfilling its plans.

In March 2023, the $30 million expansion project to increase can production capacity in Ballarat achieved its goal by increasing the quantity by 10%. On the other hand, Revesby, NSW is currently working with a can line costing 85 million and is expected to enter service during the first quarter of next year.
