The CANPACK Group once again sponsored the BNP Paribas International Green Film Festival. Held in Krakow since 2018, the festival showcases the work of filmmakers passionate about protecting the future of our planet. From August 13-20, more than 80 films on ecological themes will be screened in open-air cinemas along with workshops, panel discussions, live music and group activities.
Poland’s Green Festival is one of the country’s most popular arts events, reaching a large number of people including millions of viewers and listeners who use technology to enjoy the event from home. The foundation also offers other activities aimed at providing knowledge on how to take better care of our planet, particularly to children.
In this regard, Angelika Ogrocka, spokesperson for the Green Festival Foundation, is pleased that CANPACK is returning to work with them during the festival, as it is a company that complies with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. “We are very pleased that CANPACK will be working with us again this year, as it is a company that is committed to maintaining these important standards,” she said. The UN Global Compact Network Poland is the co-lead organizer together with the Secretary General for Business Cooperation.
CANPACK will hold a special street event during the festival. This year the public will be invited to participate in its ‘Recycling Challenge’. Among other activities, CANPACK will ask participants to sort various types of packaging, from those they perceive as the easiest to recycle to those they consider difficult or impossible to recycle.
Finally, Bartłomiej Wojdyło, from CANPACK in Europe, promoted a fun activity to encourage discussion related to creating a truly circular economy. The objective is to clarify the differences between mono and multi-material packaging, as well as to increase awareness of the importance of recycling as much as possible.
