- German manufacturer exhibits bluemint® steel tinplate with CO2 reduction
- Presentation of material-saving steel grades for containers
- Digital services to streamline customer processes
Metpack, the world’s leading trade fair for metal packaging, will be held in Essen from 2 May. thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, Germany’s only tinplate manufacturer, will once again be an exhibitor at the show to showcase its innovations and establish contacts with customers. Recently, the company has made significant progress, particularly in the areas of sustainability and CO2 emissions reduction.
“Due to COVID-19, it was unfortunately impossible to hold Metpack three years ago. So we are even more pleased to now be able to demonstrate to trade fair attendees the products we have developed in recent years and the transformative impact of sustainable rasselstein® tinplate on the packaging market,” said Carmen Tschage, Director of Communication and Market Development at thyssenkrupp Rasselstein.
At booth A31 in hall 3, attendees will receive comprehensive information on rasselstein® container steel. thyssenkrupp Rasselstein will present a range of products, including tinplate made from bluemint® steel, a CO2-reduced product whose manufacturing process generates up to 69% less carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the company will highlight details regarding its green transformation, which aims to achieve climate-neutral steelmaking by 2045.
Material savings of up to 10% thanks to rasselstein® D&I Solid
Sustainability is also highlighted in other contexts. thyssenkrupp Rasselstein introduces innovative packaging steel grades with novel material-saving features, such as rasselstein® D&I Solid, an advanced D&I material used in the production of two-piece food cans. This particular material offers the possibility of material savings of up to 10%. In application of a study on rasselstein® Solidflex, trade fair attendees will be able to see how many grams of CO2 can be saved by using this innovative steel grade for food and aerosol can packaging.
Digital services streamline customer processes
thyssenkrupp Rasselstein has not only revamped the look and feel of its SteelOnline trading platform, but has also added numerous functionalities to the application. In addition, the company’s Packaging Steel application has undergone constant development. Customers can now submit and manage product complaints and notes through an application-integrated utility. In the future, rasselstein® Express can be configured and ordered according to European standards in the Packaging Steel Shop. “Show attendees are invited to observe and try out these digital services at our booth,” Tschage said. “We are very pleased to finally welcome our customers to the show.”
