INX to showcase its proven performance product line at MetPack 2023

Since 1993, the industry has been presenting its impressive innovative strength in Essen. Messe Essen recognizes exhibitors of particularly outstanding and forward-looking products with the METPACK Innovation Award, the winners of which will be announced during the fair. Current trends will also be the topic of the METPACK Conference, where representatives from industry and science will provide insights into the future of metal packaging.
INX International as a world leader in metal decorating inks and color management technologies will also be present at this important event. Many of the major developments INX has introduced since 2017, including new ones, will be on display at booth 3C15 from May 2-6 in Essen, Germany. Sarah Jacks and Alex Folloso will offer daily presentations at INX booth 3C15.
INX will showcase a complete range of products for 2-piece and 3-piece cans, monobloc containers and the brand’s direct-to-metal digital decoration and color management solutions at this new trade show. Daily presentations on Sustainable Ink Innovations and INX Color Perfection will be offered.
“The metal decorating industry has experienced rapid change since 2017. Many of our new developments have taken place in the last three years since the program was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Renee Schouten, vice president of marketing at INX, referring to MetPack’s three-year rotation cycle.
“We continue to ambitiously pursue new projects and developments to stay ahead of future trends. Every approach we take, from resource management and sustainability to brand merchandising and enhanced shelf appeal, is done with brand owners, customers and consumers in mind.”
One of the major innovative contributions that has grown dramatically is INX Color Perfection. The brand and color management program includes the first I NX color catalog, along with a digitized color library, advanced digital proofing and color management tools, brand owners can bring their cans to market faster with accurate and consistent colors anywhere in the world.

“The market penetration of the INX Color Catalog is remarkable,” Schouten continued. “With more than 330 catalogs in the market, more than 50% are in the hands of brand owners and participate in our annual Colored By INX can design contest. It incorporates the use of the Color Catalog, and all eligible participants, including designers, metal decorators and others, have until May 31 to enter their designs.
For her part, Sarah Jacks, INX Color Perfection manager, will conduct the daily INX Color Perfection – A Global Update sessions. Demonstrations will explain the worldwide acceptance of the color management software with the latest updates and case studies from brand owners.
In addition, Alex Folloso, director of Metal Decorating Technology, will be the speaker for the Coloring a Safe and Sustainable Future in Metal Decorating presentations at 2:30 p.m. It is an opportunity for attendees to learn about INX’s sustainable ink innovations specific to the metal decorating market, and how unique resources are dedicated to industry research and development.
In relation to sustainable practices and consumer safety, the 2-piece EcoCan metallic ink system has gained market recognition since its introduction in 2021. Schouten said the product receiving a Gold Level Material Sanitation Certificate from Cradle to CradleÔ Innovation Institute is another example of INX’s dedication to the environment and consumer safety.
“Gold certification is awarded only to products that avoid the use of chemicals of concern,” he commented. “Our research and development division is dedicated to technological innovations and continually updates our product formulations. EcoCan is a great choice for metal decorators as it is formulated with low VOC and BPA-NI for environmentally friendly printing on aluminum and high-speed coated beverage cans.”
Designed for flat sheet metal decoration and formulated with European food regulations in mind, INXCure® PrintPro EU Inks are free of Per and polyfluoroalkyl substances. For use in crowns, screw caps, closures, 2-piece DRD cans, soldered aerosols and decorative tin applications, the performance-proven inks cure quickly for UV or LED, with excellent manufacturability and printability.
INX’s portfolio of specialty inks will also be on display at Booth 3C15. AP Tactile Plus, NoVar Gloss and Matte inks, as well as color-changing thermochromic, fluorescent, black light and brand protection safety inks will show how metallic packaging can have maximum shelf appeal.
