INX International Ink Co. announced the successful closing of its investment in Gooten, a New York-based U.S. company specializing in technology. The alliance will help Gooten expand its print-on-demand capabilities around the world.
In the meantime, INX will move forward with its digital print strategy. The multinational recently announced an investment of close to $50 million, all thanks to its INX Venture Capital leverage program. The objective of this action is to promote and encourage collaboration with new technology and materials science companies relevant to the printing inks and coatings value chain.
In addition, Gooten has succeeded in becoming a world-renowned company, thanks to its intelligent supply chain that will meet the needs of brands that want to produce on demand. The company does this by combining proprietary technology and operational expertise with a worldwide network of more than 30 world-class manufacturing partners. Gooten’s digital infrastructure enables automated order fulfillment for e-commerce companies, retailers and global commodity companies to scale production in an on-demand, inventory-free environment.
“We are very pleased to welcome INX as an investor in Gooten,” said Brian Rainey, CEO of Gooten. “As a globally recognized leader in high-performance printing inks and coatings, INX’s investment in Gooten recognizes our shared commitment to sustainability, quality and excellence in everything we do. With INX’s support, we are excited to continue to drive innovation, expand our reach and deliver exceptional value to our customers and partners through Gooten’s sustainable, on-demand fulfillment model,” noted the CEO.
Shane Bertsch, vice president of Strategic Planning and Innovation at INX, also anticipated a new achievement, focused on being able to develop products and invest more resources in the direct-to-target (DTO) segment through the Gooten relationship.
“We see Gooten as a catalyst to enable sustainable, on-demand manufacturing in several categories of interest to INX,” said Bertsch to which he added that “we look forward to partnering with the Gooten team to deliver high-quality digital printing solutions and services to our customers and partners.”
