Dr. Pepper Snapple Group announced that it will invest nearly $5 million in the CLOSED LOOP Fund, a recycling initiative comprised of founding members Wal-Mart and Coca-Cola. It also plans to allocate another $1 million to the Keep America Beautiful initiative to place recycling garbage cans in public parks.
In this way, the beverage company says that through these investments it seeks to help achieve a 60% recycling rate by 2030 (USA). The Group has joined with 10 other companies to form the Closed Loop Fund, which proposed to invest $100 million to help cities and companies in recycling projects. In September 2020, the Fund announced its first three recycling investments totaling approximately US$24 million.
Also, since its launch in 2013, the partnership between Dr Pepper Snapple Group and the Keep America Beautiful partnership has provided more than 2,500 recycling garbage cans to expand access to recycling parks. Over the next three years, through the new agreement, DPS and Keep America Beautiful have set a goal of adding 4,000 more containers.
