Skills, values, community: SACMI inaugurates the Academy

Improving a company and enriching a community by transmitting values and skills: SACMI inaugurates its Academy. And that means a new facility, a dedicated team and more than 48,000 hours of training in 2022 alone for no fewer than 3,000 Group employees working in our Italian subsidiaries.


Location
SACMI headquarters, via Selice Provinciale 17/A, Imola. Here, in the heart of the manufacturing area, on the third floor of the W57 building, located between the workshop and the goods unloading area, is the new SACMI Academy: a 400 m2 facility in which 2 million euros have been invested.
Functional and flexible spaces designed to deliver collaborative training, drive growth and, above all, spark the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
The blue-orange-green color scheme has a refreshing “outdoorsy” feel, with saturated colors and natural wood providing an environment conducive to learning.

Strategy
“We conceive the Academy not only as a physical space where we train our people, but also as an environment that spreads, above all, culture and values,” explains Paolo Mongardi, president of SACMI.
What values? Honesty, ethics, courage in the face of future challenges, but also the ability to take advantage of experience and pass on the resulting knowledge to the next generation.
“Here at SACMI, we have at least five generations working together. Innovation is not just about embracing the future. It is, above all, the ability to connect different experiences so that the company we leave to those who come after us is even better,” emphasizes Paolo Mongardi.


Transferring knowledge
Training is the lifeblood that feeds the growth of the organization: with the Academy, SACMI extends this training to customers, to other companies in the SACMI network in Italy and worldwide, to universities and schools.
In its first full year of operation, the number of hours dedicated to routine training was increased and specific programs were developed to “train the trainers”.
There are already a hundred certified SACMI trainers: experienced personnel with shared tools, procedures and objectives at the service of the entire network; this means that the trainers themselves are motivated and enthusiastic, which ensures that the courses are methodically organized from the on-boarding phase of new personnel.

Partners
Bologna Business School and Politecnico di Torino are just two of the institutions with which SACMI has partnered to establish cutting-edge courses: by 2023, the focus will be on leadership, project management and IoT Academya branch dedicated to expanding and spreading the knowledge necessary for the digital transition.
