PMMI, the Packaging and Processing Technologies Association, announced its annual On the Rise Awards winners. Developed by PMMI’s Emerging Leaders Committee, the awards recognize 10 young professionals who have demonstrated leadership potential in packaging and processing. Alison Zitzke, senior product manager for ORBIS® Corporation, was the winner of the On the Rise 2022 Award by PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
Just such an award comes on the heels of one of Alison’s most recent achievements in spearheading the development and launch of ORBIS’ flagship 40-inch by 48-inch pallet, the Odyssey®, taking the pallet portfolio into new manufacturing technologies, applications and markets within the reusable packaging space. Alison is also passionate about promoting the circular economy and experimenting with incorporating post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials into the manufacture of new products.
“Alison is no stranger to breaking barriers, as she consistently challenges the status quo in the industry to support the continued conversion from wood pallets to reusable plastic packaging solutions. As an advocate for new product development, participant in professional coaching sessions and steward of sustainability, it is no wonder that Alison was recognized with this honor,” said Alex Hempel, senior director of retail supply chain, ORBIS Corporation.
