Hoffmann, a global supplier of high-quality packaging for baby food, nutritional and wellness products, announced a new appointment. Industry expert Christoph Peternell will be managing director of its cans business. Peternell, who replaces André Seiler, will be based at the company’s headquarters in Thun, Switzerland, in order to make frequent visits to Hoffmann’s facilities in Dronten, The Netherlands.
Asimismom, Peternell has more than 25 years of international experience in the management of production facilities and related logistics. He has a consolidated portfolio of strategic and operational successes in several consumer goods companies, where he worked for many years as Interim or Plant Manager. His most recent position was in the baby food sector as COO of Hochdorf Swiss Nutrition AG, Switzerland.
The new management has entered a phase of increased investment in the can business, including upgraded equipment and renewable energy to decarbonize the plants. Earlier this year, Hoffmann introduced a new tin manufacturing line dedicated to baby milk powder products. Now installed and operating in a segregated room for food grade compliance, the new line is currently serving a major customer in the baby food sector.
Mark Aegler, CEO of Hoffmann Neopac: “He joins Hoffmann at an exciting and forward-looking time highlighted by significant near-term investments to expand capacity and product versatility. We are delighted to welcome him to the Hoffmann family.”
