(CBA) Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio achieved the renewal of the international certifications Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) in Standard Performance Standards V2 and Chain of Custody V1 for aluminum manufacturing.
However, the company can continue to operate safely and responsibly at the São Paulo production units in Alumínio and Araçariguama, at the Pernambuco plant in Itapissuma, at the bauxite mining areas in Poços de Caldas, Miraí and Itamarati, and at the administrative headquarters in São Paulo (SP).
This is a provision that has powers to define environmental, social and governance principles and criteria. It does so in order to address sustainability issues within the entire aluminum chain.
The chain-of-custody standard is complementary because it ensures materials management and supply chain sourcing requirements to demonstrate that products come from good stewardship, controlled sources of scrap and that associated claims are true.
