Novelis, the multinational company specialized in the areas of aluminum rolling and recycling, achieved the international certification known as ASI. This endorses the efficient procedure used in the company.
Preparation for certification began in February 2022 when a change in internal measures was promoted to reinforce treatment related to the environment, health, safety and “social relations”. The final audit was conducted in June and confirmed that the business met all the criteria evaluated.
“Novelis’ successful circular economy model is reinforced from its collection centers. We contribute 64% of the total beverage cans recycled in the country. The certification by ASI gives us the necessary certainty that this is essential and we have taken the right paths by inserting the recycling activity in a great social aspect,” said Eunice Lima, director of communication and government relations at Novelis.
Novelis had achieved certification in the same lamination and recycling strategy based in Pindamonhangaba (SP) last year.
