Today, on average, more than 24,000 yellow garbage cans are already integrated with the RDS in Spain, and technology has also been incorporated with other companies and universities so that the user receives rewards whenever he/she goes to recycle in them.
For this reason, Reciclos users shared more than 320 projects of a social or environmental nature, such as those carried out by the Food Bank to help those affected with La Palma, the Red Cross to help victims of the winter in Ukraine, as well as the Reciclos Forest and Aldeas Infantiles creating watersheds in desert areas.
Thanks to the score obtained, they have also won prizes such as electric scooters or baskets of KM0 products to promote sustainable mobility and fair trade. In addition, with these points, they have also won more than 21,000 prizes such as electric scooters or KM0 product baskets to promote sustainable mobility and fair trade, among other incentives.
In this way, every time citizens use RECICLOS to recycle their beverage cans and plastic bottles, they can contribute to help their neighbors who need it most or their own municipality, besides promoting the circularity of these containers or, in other words, giving them a second life through recycling.
“It is a source of great pride to see how RECICLOS continues to grow to 200,000 users. But, above all, it gives us great satisfaction to see how citizens not only commit to recycling, but also contribute to social and environmental causes through their points,” concluded Nieves Rey, Director of Communication and Marketing at Ecoembes.
