Crown Holdings announced that it will build a second high-speed line at its beverage can facility this year. The first state is already running in Europe, which puts Parma, Italy in the spotlight to receive part of the project.
In principle, production of Crown’s first line in Parma started operations in 2019. It is likely to start full operation on a second line during the first quarter of 2023 until additional capacity planned to expand into the large Italian markets and beyond is brought on line.
This important announcement by the company confirms Crown’s investment commitment and confirms that the new line will produce more than one billion cans per year and will generate another 80 new direct jobs at the Italian headquarters. The company also confirms that the new line will meet growing demand in the carbonated soft drink, sparkling water, beer and wine segments of the beverage can market.
