AkzoNobel participated in the CEO Alliance for Europe meeting on June 29. The intersectoral meeting brought together some of the continent’s largest companies in Madrid, and emphasized the need to create an industry action plan to combat climate change and advance the decarbonization of Europe.
The most important topic discussed at the meeting was how to further improve the environment because AkzoNobel has a key role to play in doing so. This would surely be compatible with this company’s commitment to achieve decarbonization neutrality by 2050.
Today, the multinational AkzoNobel is leading the paints and coatings sector in a sustainable way by leveraging sustainable energy generation. Each plant is running 100 percent on renewable energy. They have also installed 2,800 solar panels at their facilities in Spain. It is a sign of AkzoNobel’s full commitment to the goals of reducing energy consumption.
One hundred million euros of investment to eliminate CO2 by 2030, gradual introduction of the price are some of the points that are in the document of ten senior European managers. As a result, Europe’s leading CEOs are calling for a push for far-reaching climate action.
“We are sure that what is happening for the EU Green Deal and Next Generation EU has something to do with the advances that artificial locomotives have had over the last few years. And this is exactly the space where we can put innovations and entrepreneurial ingenuity.”
European Union executives spoke to European politicians to move towards climate neutrality, promoting strategies such as “localizing a standardized CO2 price for all sectors” and “setting end dates for CO2-intensive technologies.”
Timmermans, executive vice president of the European Commission, stated that making Europe climate neutral by 2050 was a major challenge. Top managers plan to work with their organizations to find practical solutions for effective climate protection. They are always seeking to maintain an ongoing constructive dialogue with the European Commission.
