UK-based brewer Hepworth & Company will undertake a major investment program to increase production and improve sustainability at its brewery in Sussex. The canning line will be available through artisanal cans by the end of 2022.
It appears that the company is determined to operate in this new canning project, specifically in this new line. As part of the investment, the company scheduled this process to start next month.
Hepworth confirms that it will have a capacity of 30,000 cans per hour. After many years in the industry, Hepworth decided to expand its services to include, among others, home canning. This means that they are the ones who manage the quality of the beers and service their potential customers.
Andy Hepworth added that “it doesn’t look like the thirst for canned beer is going to clash with sales, so we’re confident that brewers will know specifically what to do when it comes to asking for a contract. We have focused on sustainability from the beginning. For almost a year now, we have been considering new ways to reduce our carbon footprint by incorporating processes that are already in place,” he said.
Although it already has the canning plant, Hepworth is investing in new environmental measures to achieve its goal of 85% neutrality by 2025. There is a carbon dioxide recovery project, which the company will implement by the end of next year. The company’s portfolio includes traditional and contemporary beers available in kegs, casks and bottles.
