ORBIS®, an international leader in packaging, continues as the official sustainability partner of the Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF). This partnership was conceived for the second consecutive year to provide additional recycling garbage cans for use throughout the season at ethnic and cultural festivals, public gatherings, concerts and private corporate events specifically at Henry Maier Festival Park. In addition, ORBIS has supplied 260 recycling garbage cans for use throughout the site.
“Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. maintains this partnership with ORBIS and has decided to increase recycling efforts at the 75-acre Henry Maier Festival Park,” says Don Smiley, executive director of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.
MWF maintains and enhances Henry Maier Festival Park, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Each year, the park has an average of 1.3 million visitors. Since last year, the partnership with MWF marked the beginning of a partnership focused on sustainability and recycling.
In the first year, the association placed 130 recycling garbage cans for plastic cups and other waste only useful for people to place their plastic waste inside. This year, ORBIS and MWF added about 130 additional garbage cans and plan to continue their recycling education program over the next few years.
On the other hand, ORBIS has a strong focus on recyclability thanks to the fact that its main products are manufactured with recycled content. In addition, 100% of the main products can be separated and reused during other uses thanks to the Recycle with ORBIS program, which is designed to recover, recycle and reprocess the packages completely before they are thrown into a well upstream solid waste process.
