The company Pervasive Technologies has implemented an image analysis system in the manufacturing process of muzzles for champagne corks. The use of artificial intelligence recognition allows, on the one hand, the reduction and automated prediction of possible faults in the braiding and fitting of muzzles.

Achieving products of the highest quality is a success for Sabat, which has 115 years of history in the metal fabrication sector. This company is innovating every day so that its products are the best, as is the case of the machinery it has developed and built. Thanks to them, the processes to produce the safety pin are much simpler, and that is why Sabat combines tradition and innovation to achieve products of the highest quality in the markets of Spain, France, Italy, Germany, USA and Latin America.

The IT company, Pervasive Technologies, used artificial intelligence to analyze the images by implementing its Edge processors for a year with an investment of nearly 400,000 euros. Thanks to all these detailed models that Sabat has acquired with his theft, he now has the opportunity to analyze how the process in the factories is being carried out to improve the muzzles.

On the other hand, another of the main features of the system is that, in real time, the equipment analyzes the problem when it happens and also allows to anticipate who will suffer a possible machinery stoppage.

Rodolfo Lomascolo, one of the program’s creators, explains that the images analyzed by the AI translate into improvements for products such as champagne corks. The program takes care of the problem they have with failures and generates a historical record to ensure the optimal quality of the finished product (the innovation). “It is very important for a company like Sabat that maintains the heritage of its forefathers and yet is always looking carefully for new ways to explore these new and challenging scenarios that the market brings us,” confirms Lomascolo.

Manuel Sabat, director of Sabat, says that “the most relevant thing is the transfer of knowledge from the operators to the company, in the form of Artificial Intelligence models. Until now, the knowledge of the operation of the machines was in the hands of the technical operators and this has been the step to recover this knowledge and incorporate it directly to the company”.
