The multinational PPG has agreed to divest certain business activities in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon and Algeria to Océinde, an industrial group based in Reunion, France. Océinde will continue to offer the existing product range, including SEIGNEURIE® paint, through a licensing and distribution agreement.

PPG employees in the countries concerned will join Océinde. In addition, Olivier Bouin, currently general manager of PPG, Architectural Coatings Africa French Overseas and Suriname, will join Océinde as general manager for the Trade Architectural Coatings market in Africa.

Pascal Tisseyre, PPG vice president, Architectural Coatings, Europe, Middle East and Africa – South notes that this change in business model will benefit customers in Africa. “Both companies look forward to working together to better serve the African market,” he adds.

For his part, Nassir Goulamaly, CEO of Océinde adds that “we have been investing for decades in innovation especially to the growing African market and this agreement will help us support that”.

Océinde has a variety of commercial activities in Europe, the Indian Ocean and Africa. This partnership will strengthen a long-lasting relationship between the companies, including the supply of Océinde’s specialty materials to PPG.
